- First of all check around your baby’s whole body to find areas with acne and pimples. Although it is more commonly found on the face, acne can be found near your baby’s back and chest and sometimes even in the legs.
- Drooling and excessive spit that comes from your baby’s mouth is a factor that can aggravate acne. Thus you should try to keep your baby’s chin dry and free from saliva. You can wipe it with a moist cotton cloth. Don’t use cloth or substances that are harsh or synthetic in nature (such as polyester).
- Make sure that your baby is wrapped in soft clothes made out of natural fibers like cotton. Don’t use polyester or synthetic materials in your baby’s clothing. Also make sure that your baby doesn’t over heat. Excessive sweating has been found to aggravate acne in infants.
- Make sure that you wash your baby’s clothes with a natural and non allergic detergents made especially for baby clothes.

If you do have to use a lotion, then make sure you use specially formulated baby lotions on your infant’s skin.
- Don’t scrub your baby’s skin under any circumstances. This will only aggravate the situation.
Other Options for Baby Acne
If the acne persists, even after doing the things above; then it may be the time for you to go to a pediatrician. Also never use adult acne medication on infants under any circumstance. The dosages and the concentration levels will be too high for your infant. Your pediatrician will prescribe mild baby potions for your chills. Don’t forget that baby acne is no cause for alarm and it will go away.
