Newborn Acne Causes and Treatment
One thing that can be said for sure about newborn acne is the fact that it can’t be caused directly by the actions of the parents. Most of the time, it is caused by the hormones that have passed over to the placenta from the mother. This is the usual case for newborn acne. Even as the baby is born, these hormones will sometimes be circulating in the infant’s blood stream.
Thus 2 or 3 months after the baby is born, these hormones may try to flush themselves out of your baby’s body. In the general situation, as these hormones are flushed from the body, there will be a break out of red bumps and pimples across the newborn’s face and sometimes on the whole body.
This is nothing to be alarmed of, as this is a perfectly legitimate reaction of the body. This acne on your baby is nothing to be concerned about, as it shows that your baby is cleaning the hormones and the toxins from its body. You can try some home remedies for the acne in your newborn child. For example, you can clean up the area with warm soapy water and you can use baby lotions on the area. Sometimes your clothes may be an irritant to the child when you pick it up and thus you should wear soft clothes and you should wrap the baby up in cottons if possible.
